China-U.S. relations should not focus on differences, and both sides should look into the future with a telescope instead of amplifying differences using a microscope.[Special coverage]

Bilateral trade volume has expanded steadily in recent years and last year, China became the biggest trading partner of the U.S., with trade volume reaching nearly 560 billion U.S. dollars.

Interactions between the world's two largest economies result in benefits beyond their own borders.

The center of excellence on nuclear security, which opened in Beijing on March 18, was financed by the two nations. It will train about 2,000 nuclear security staff from China and other Asia-Pacific nations each year.

The joint efforts of the two countries to ensure the success of the Paris Climate Change Conference and the establishment of dialogue and cooperation mechanisms on cyber security show that the two nations are able to carry out fruitful cooperation despite their differences.

While seeking to augment common interests on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, the two nations should manage their differences.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi told a press conference at the annual legislative session that the source of China-U.S. frictions was "suspicions about China," worries that China will supersede the U.S. one day.

The concerns are unnecessary. History shows that China is not obsessed with displacing or dominating any country, and this will remain true in the future.
