Prioritizing and focusing on key issues is crucial as China enters its third year of a campaign to deepen reforms aimed at building a moderately prosperous society.

On Monday, at the new year's first meeting of the reform leading group, Chinese President Xi Jinping, head of the group, said a "main body frame" of the reform should be established this year.

When the new leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee took office in late 2012, the country's three decades of reform had entered a deep-water zone.

In November, 2013, "comprehensively deepening reform" was put on the agenda of a key meeting of the CPC. The leading group was established after the meeting.

Since then, China has rolled out about 330 reform measures involving 15 sectors.

In 2015, 101 key reform missions set by the leading group were completed and China remains committed to military reform, Xi said.

The rate of success must be continued this year.

To build the "main body frame," leaders have called for a full assessment of the state of reforms in all sectors, prioritizing and focusing on major issues.

Overhauls of state-owned enterprises, the financial and taxation systems, the science and technology sector and the law have been significant and will continue to be so.

Meanwhile, China has stressed the need to clarify the responsibilities of different bodies and for them to coordinate more effectively in the reform drive.

Being at the core of the "Four Comprehensives" -- the strategic objectives outlined in Xi's blueprint for China's future, comprehensively deepening reforms has paved the way for China to advance steadily on its development path.
