Official calls for deepened cross-Straits political trust

A Taiwan affairs official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday called for deepened political trust between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.

Zhang Zhijun, head of the Taiwan Work Office of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks when receiving visiting honorary chairman of Taiwan's ruling Kuomintang (KMT) Wu Po-hsiung.

During the meeting, the two exchanged views on communication between the CPC and KMT and cross-Strait relations.

Zhang hoped both parties could consolidate and deepen political trust, promote interactions, and firmly advance the development of cross-Strait relations to benefit the people.
