2013-01-14 08:30 Xinhua     Web Editor: Liu Xian comment

China on Sunday donated 200,000 U.S. dollars for Syrian refugees in Jordan, the Chinese embassy in Amman said in a statement.

The aid seeks to support Syrian refugees in the country, and preparations will start soon to transfer the money, said the statement.

There are around 300,000 Syrians who fled the unrest in their country to Jordan since early 2011, according to official figures.

Aid groups said Syrians in the Zaatari camp, which is home to more than 45,000 Syrians, are facing difficult conditions.

Jordan has repeatedly appealed for international aid to assist the refugees due to the limited resources in the Arab kingdom.
