World also needs ‘Chinese Dream’

"Rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has been the greatest Chinese dream in modern times since the Opium Wars," Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, said when he visited "The Road toward Renewal" exhibition on Nov. 29. It is the first time that Xi has referred to the "Chinese Dream." Both Chinese people and the world need the "Chinese Dream."

People all over the world have their own dreams, so do the Chinese. During the revolutionary period, the dream of people with lofty ideals was to build an independent, prosperous and democratic new China. Since implementation of the Reform and Opening up, China has achieved significant development, which is attributed to tremendous contribution of many hard-working Chinese people. However, we have to admit that the pursuit of money has spilled over into many aspects of Chinese society. The crises of faith, integrity and credibility have occurred in China, which is closely related to people's lack of dreams, pursuits and grand goals.

"Chinese Dream" has three distinct characteristics:

Firstly, it is shared by a large number of people. The rise of China means the rise of 1.3 billion Chinese people, which is an unprecedented event. The Reform and Opening-up to the outside world have provided a platform for generations of Chinese people to realize their dreams.

Secondly, it covers all walks of life. China's modernization drive is a magnificent cause. Since the Reform and Opening-up to the outside world, a lot of eminent persons have emerged in different walks of life.

Thirdly, it is shared with the world. The policy of Reform and Opening-up enables numerous foreigners to have opportunities to achieve their dreams in China.

Chinese people need the "Chinese Dream," which is helpful to solve the three major crises mentioned above and build a friendly and harmonious society.

The world also needs the "Chinese Dream." The rise of China causes concern, anxiety and fear of other countries. The "Chinese Dream" will be very popular if the world can really understand it, since it narrows the gap between China and other countries, reduce barriers in rise of China and deepen the world's understanding of real China.

"Chinese Dream" is the requirement of the world because it is shared with the world, instead of being only based on the interests of China.

China is located in East Asia that has the most dynamic and fastest-growing economy in the world. The "Chinese Dream" is able to inspire generations of Chinese people to face up to difficulties and properly deal with one challenge after another. The better development of China is beneficial to both China and the world.

The 18th CPC National Congress marks China's entering a new stage of development. The "Chinese Dream" benefits both China and the world. The more people share the "Chinese Dream", the better the future will be.
