China strengthens patrols in waters of Diaoyu Islands

2012-10-11 16:32 CNTV     Web Editor: Liu Xian comment

One of the counter measures by the Chinese government on the islands dispute is strengthening marine surveillance and patrols around the Diaoyu Islands. 3 days after the Japanese announced its so-called "nationalization" plan, 6 Chinese marine surveillance ships began performing their official duties in the surrounding waters.

During the Chinese National Day holidays, four surveillance ships and five fishery patrol ships were in the area for patrol missions. Chinese Foreign Ministry says Chinese marine surveillance ships and fishery patrol ships will continue to perform their official duties in waters near the Diaoyu Islands.
