Under tight security, employees on John Hume’s ranch in South Africa dehorn a rhino in Klerksdorp a hundred miles from Johannesburg. About 1,800 rhinos roam the Hume ranch, which breeds more rhinos than any place in the world. Hume believes that holding an auction for the horns will help protect the embattled rhinos in the midst of a poaching crisis. (Photo/Agencies)
