Li Yifeng and his colleagues work in a cold store in Dongguan City, South China’s Guangdong Province, Aug. 20, 2017. While the city’s temperatures are approximately 40 degrees centigrade, the temperature inside the cold store is approximately minus 18 degrees centigrade. Li, 24, works at least five hours a day inside the cold store, which stores pastries, and he wears heavy winter clothes. Li earns about 4,000 yuan a month ($600). Workers at the factory have a piece wage system and Li sometimes works up to 12 hours in the cold store during the peak season. Li said people are busy working in the cold environment and rarely have time to stop and talk, which adds to his feeling of loneliness. (Photo/VCG)
