Dinosaur footprints from the early Jurassic Period have been found in Maotai Town, Southwest China’s Guizhou Province. A local company doing construction work happened to expose a rock surface covered with marks in 2013, and it wasn't until this summer some staff from the company contacted archeologists to verify the discovery after reading news report of dinosaur footprints found in another place. Xing Lida, an associate professor with China University of Geoscience, said the discovery of more than 200 footprints from sauropod dinosaurs was of large style, well-preserved and important for research purposes.
