Huang Quande, 87 and his brother Huang Yuechuang, 77, work as models at the Lijiang River in Xinping Town, Yangshuo County, South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Known for its Karst mountains and river sights, cruises along the Lijiang River have become a popular attraction. Huang Yuechuang began to earn money by charging tourists who wanted to pose with him for pictures in 2003. Huang Quande joined him after leaving his job at Impression Liu Sanjie, a music night show on the Lijiang River, directed by the famous Zhang Yimou, in 2008. For the past several years, the gray-bearded brothers have been the favorite models of photographers as well as ordinary tourists. They said visitors paid them anything from dozens of yuan to hundreds of yuan for pictures, so their monthly income varied. They also spend their time training cormorants, who also can feature in the photos, repairing their boats, and also studying foreign languages. (Photo/CFP)
