An old paper mill is seen at a village in Xinglong town, Southwest China’s Chongqing municipality, March 9, 2015. The water-powered mill, with equipment dating back to the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), is the best preserved in the Three Gorges Reservoir area and has been inscribed on Chongqing’s intangible cultural heritage list to receive protection. The area has a history of making primitive paper as early as Song Dynasty (960-1279) thanks to its rich resources of water and high-quality bamboo. (Photo: China News Service/Rao Guojun)
