Art lovers 'dress' pillars to brighten up city(1/4)

Amateur artists have turned concrete pillars into cartoon characters to brighten up a city square in Zhengzhou, capital of Central China's Henan province. More than 100 small concrete pillars surrounding the square have been transformed from their original grey into Santa Claus, Sponge Bob Square Pants, and many other well-known characters. According to artist Yang Meng, more than 30 amateur artists have taken part in the event, which aims to brighten up the dull grey winter landscape and delight passersby.
