Restoration for ancient town of Dukezong underway in China's Yunnan(1/5)

Workers work at a ruin in the ancient town of Dukezong in Shangri-la County, Deqen Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Yunnan rovince, Sept 11, 2014. A general restoration plan for the ancient town of Dukezong which caught fire in January has been officially carried out in September. According to the plan, which is worth 1.2 billion yuan (196 million US dollars), all affected residences in the town will be fixed by the end of 2014 and the whole project is expected to be finished within three years. Dukezong, established more than 1,300 years ago, is known for its Tibetan-style architectures. The fire that broke out on Jan 11 burnt nearly a fifth of the ancient town's core preservation area.
