Wudaokou, literally in Chinese the fifth level crossing of the Beijing-Baotou Raiwaly, is a neighborhood in the Haidian District of northwest Beijing. Close to a large number of universities and known for its large number of international students, Wudaokou has another name "Universe Center" circulating among college students. The Old Tsinghua University Railway Station, which was built in 1910 on Wudaokou as a station on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway, was terminated service in 1980s. But its station building and signboard are preserved to commemorate the past prosperity. Nowadays, the Line 13 Subway of Beijing runs across Wudaokou, making the area one of the busiest commercial area in Beijing. (Xinhua/Wang Fang)
