Xiling Snow Mountain in China's Sichuan sees travel boom during Spring Festival holiday

The Xiling Snow Mountain, located in Dayi County in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, has become a popular destination during the Spring Festival holiday as an ice and snow festival recently kicked off.　

Instead of staying home during the holiday, more people are now choosing to immerse themselves in the charm of ice and snow sports. The Xiling Snow Mountain Scenic Area,　the only national-level ski resort in south　China, has seen a surge in visitors since the snow season of 2024 started, a year-on-year increase of approximately 285%.　

During the Spring Festival holiday, the scenic area combined folk customs with ice and snow activities, featuring events such as family photo shoots, interactions with panda mascot, and collecting stamps of various "Fu　(meaning good luck)" characters. These events allowed visitors to enjoy the ice and snow while experiencing the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year.　

To enhance visitors' experience, the scenic area has added multiple ice and snow activity venues, increased the number of professional coaches and free public lessons, and upgraded its service facilities.
