China-Laos Railway opens up new path for international rail freight transportation

An activity for the 2nd anniversary of the China-Laos Railway's operation was held in Kunming, southwest China's Yunnan Province on Sunday. 　

On the same day, a freight train of China-Laos Railway carrying 32 cars of Russian non-metallic mineral products left China from Mohan Railway Station in Yunnan Province. The train departed from Russia's Moscow, and entered China through Manzhouli port, and will ultimately arrive in Thailand's Bangkok, the whole process of about 22 days. Compared with the traditional transporting routes, this route can shorten the time by about 20 days. 　

At the same time, a train loaded with Lao corn also departed from Mohan Railway Station. The train was expected to arrive at Mengzibei Railway Station in 2 days, and the food on the train will be distributed all over China. Compared to road transport, the entire transporting time was reduced by 1 to 2 days, and the cost of transportation decreased by 20 percent.
