(ECNS) -- A freight train departed Dunhuang City, northwest China's Gansu Province, for Thailand's Bangkok on Thursday morning.
Loaded with 530 tonnes of asbestos, it is expected to arrive at its destination in 12 days, 28 days shorter than the previous 40-day sea route, said local authorities.
The operation of this international freight train means this line in the west part of Gansu has become an essential corridor that connects the province and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
