Rare hoopoe bird spotted in NW China's Qinghai Province

(ECNS) -- Pictures of a rare hoopoe bird feeding the fledgling have been captured in Haidong, Qinghai Province.

Endangered as they are, hoopoe birds often live in mountains, forests, plains, valleys and farmlands and mainly feed on insects.

They are beneficial birds with significant research value. The hoopoe is Israel's national bird.
