(ECNS) -- A textile park covering 40,000 square meters has entered operation in Yopurga County, Kashgar prefecture.

It has offered 1,200 jobs for local people.

Three sisters from a family in Aqike Township are working at a garment factory here. The trio started work in the park in September 2019 and all three have become skilled after about a year of employ. Their monthly salary has risen to 2,500 yuan (about $380). Their parents are delighted since their lives have greatly improved.

"I used to take care of my parents and kids and had nothing else to do. Now I work here in winter and summer. We three sisters are all working here, lessening our families' financial pressure," said Meregül Abdurusul, one of the sisters who work at the Yopurga textile factory.

After completion of its second phase, the factory would offer 4,000 to 5,000 jobs.

Industrial assistance to Xinjiang has adjusted local industrial structure, provided a large number of job opportunities, and increased their income.

More and more farmers in this region are transforming into "industrial workers" and living a better life.
