(ECNS) -- The Chang'e-5 lunar probe has successfully unfolded China's national flag on the Moon.

The flag, 300 millimeters long and 200 millimeters wide, weighs only 11.8 grams.

Chinese researchers spent eight years developing special materials for the flag.

Common polyester or nylon materials are not suitable for a flag on the Moon, so they chose aramid fiber.

Cutting-edge technologies were adopted to raise the color fastness of the flag.

Made with high-end aramid fiber, it will not fade between 150℃ to minus 150℃.

The flag will stay on the Moon permanently.
