Abe Nobuko, from Japan, is doing exactly that in China's Sichuan Province.
To become a panda breeder, Nobuko learned Chinese in Japan and further pursued animal protection studies locally.
Nobuko has grown used to carrying heavy objects like bamboo.
She also knows the characteristics of each panda.
In addition to professional training, a panda keeper must show love, Nobuko stressed.
Even if she ceases to be a breeder in future, she hopes to continue working in areas related to giant pandas.
