The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) celebrated the 50th anniversary of its establishment on Tuesday in the Philippine capital of Manila.
ASEAN leaders released a declaration on the anniversary, recalling the goal of the establishment to "promote regional cooperation and contribute towards peace, progress and prosperity in the region."
Member countries will concentrate their efforts to reach the goals of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, set under the theme of "One Vision, One Identity, One Community, " according to the statement.
