With media reports coming in that the DPRK may be preparing for a sixth nuclear test, residents in the border city of Dandong — in northeast China's Liaoning Province — are extremely concerned about how the situation could get out of hand.

Some residents of Dandong fear for their safety, but many are convinced that China is wise enough to prevent events from getting out of hand.

Only one Chinese patrol boat could be seen on the Yalu River — which divides the two countries — on Thursday morning when CGTN's Grace Shao went there. When asked, local fishermen said they have not observed any unusual activity on either side of the border.
