China, Norway agree to normalize ties

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has held talks with Norway's Foreign Minister Borge Brende in Beijing.

Li said mutual respect, equality and protecting each other's core interests are the premise and foundation for bilateral relations. Li said the two countries' foreign ministers had candid and in-depth talks, and reached an agreement on the normalization of bilateral ties, which have been frozen since 2010.

Li Keqiang said China is willing to start discussion with Norway on signing free trade agreements.

Brende said the normalization of bilateral ties has historic significance, that Norway supports the One-China policy, and respects China's core interests.
