Myanmar's State Counselor on five-day visit

Premier Li Keqiang has met with Myanmar's first State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi in Beijing. Li said China hopes the two sides could press ahead with the major cooperation projects, including a gas pipe line and the Myistone dam. After the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of several agreements, including one involving a bridge project in Myanmar.

Suu Kyi is on a five-day official visit to China. It is her first major foreign trip since the new government took office this April. Ahead of the meeting, She was officially received by Premier Li at a welcoming ceremony.
