For years,Chinese customers have favored imported wines over domestic, which allows foreign wines to be sold at sometimes strikingly high prices. At the same time, domestic wineries try to prove their quality by keeping their prices just as high as the imports.

Things are changing now. Imported wines are more affordable, and have posed huge marketing challenges for Chinese wineries.
