The capital of Hubei province, Wuhan, is another city that has been hit hard by extreme weather. Workers have drained the main road leading to the city, after days of continuous rainfall flooded Wuhan's downtown.

Local officials say they are keeping an eye on the weather situation and are committed to ensuring the safety of residents. Some 580 millimeters of rain have fallen on the city, in just over 7 days. A new record.

The extreme weather has affected over 750,000 residents. 14 people have died and 1 person is still missing. The government has helped move more than 160,000 people to drier locations.
