Beijing's Palace Museum has recently made available an electronic download of culture! The museum's virtual tour -- accessible with mobile phones and other devices -- now offers an English-language version as well as a teenage version.

In a bid to provide a user-friendly experience, the English version has been redesigned with more convenient links. The teenage version, meanwhile, is going for interactive elements, with cartoon characters leading them through the museum's layout and detailing current or future exhibitions.

Students can even explore with a character of their choice! This way, they get to learn about the major treasures on site as well as the stories behind them, and lessons are anchored through quizzes and games.

The Palace Museum is now using Mondays, when it is closed, to take footage inside the Forbidden City and put it online with 360-degree displays.
