The 1,800-km Tanzania-Zambia Railway built half-century ago with the aid of China has showcased the long-lasting friendship between China and Africa.
However, the main artery through several eastern African countries has been suffering from operational problems over the last decade.
Now, China is assisting in the construction of several modern railways in Africa to replace the old ones.
