Obama proposes renewal of nuclear cooperation deal with China

U.S. President Obama has proposed a 30-year Sino-U.S. nuclear cooperation agreement, which allows the transfer of material, reactors, components and technology between the two nations for 30 years, after the current 30-year agreement expires in December.

The new deal would play a key role in international nuclear safety, security and nonproliferation, experts said.
