International airlines are expected to resume their China flights in late April after extending the suspension period of their operations due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Delta Air Lines has temporarily suspended its operations to China since February 6 and will relaunch them on April 30. The airline was operating 42 weekly flights between the U.S. and China, including daily service connecting Beijing and Detroit and Seattle, and Shanghai and Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles and Seattle.

According to CNBC, American Airlines (AA) has extended its flight suspension to the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong from both Dallas and Los Angeles to late April. American Airlines operates approximately 56 monthly flights between Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Chinese airports.

United Airlines has pushed the resumption of its China flights back to late April. It originally said it would temporarily halt its flights to Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu until March 28.

British Airways has also canceled all its flights to the Chinese mainland and it does not anticipate operating flights to either Beijing or Shanghai before April.

The visa application centers in foreign embassies and consulates in China have been gradually reopening since February 10.
