W Hotels, part of Marriott International, Inc., announced on August 21 that the remarkable W Xi'an is open. W Xi'an is the seventh W Hotel in China, and its opening is undoubtedly another embodiment of the rapid development of the brand.
W Xi'an, invested by the Shaanxi Vanzhong Real Estate Co., Ltd. and located in the Qujiang New District combining modern and historical elements, integrates the city's thousands of years of evolution into the hotel, leads guests to feel the pulse of the ancient city from a new perspective and guides global guests to ignite their passion.
Located at the important international tourist center in northwestern China, W Xi'an is a 40-minute drive from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport and possesses the charm of Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Paradise and Qujiang Pool. Xi'an has been an important hub on the Silk Road since ancient times and it is also recognized as the birthplace of the Chinese civilization. The change of dynasties and the precipitation of time gave the ancient city a rich historical and cultural foundation and an all-encompassing food culture.
Apart from Qin Shihuang's terracotta warriors, the ancient city wall and other precious historical relics and traditional handicrafts, Xi'an has various local snacks, which demonstrate the customs of the northwest and make guests want to try more tastes.
W Xi'an, with an area of nearly 80,000 square meters, is cleverly stitched together with the adjacent Vanzhong International Complex to form a letter W. In the evening, the neon lights on the exterior walls of the buildings are dazzling and have become a landmark of the ancient city. The highly praised interior design company AB Concept provided innovative interior design for W Xi'an, which integrates historical profundity with contemporary culture through the unique perspective of the W brand, and boldly interprets traditional culture and the old and new times of the ancient city of Xi'an.
The hotel designs show the vibrant historical and cultural foundation of Xi'an through the combination of contemporary art installations and multimedia dynamic visual images. They create labyrinthine irregular public spaces inspired by the design elements of Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui and Tang dynasties to lead guests to experience the unique culture of five dynasties by crossing different time and space boundaries.
The giant digital art installation outside the hotel gives a fragmented interpretation of the image of prosperity of the Tang Dynasty, stimulating the guests' desire to explore. The silver wavy streaks embrace the 17-meter-tall hotel and the abstract glass swirl suspended in the air introduces the concept of ever-flowing light into space. The orderly pottery figurine artworks about ancient acrobatics salute the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty and extend a warm invitation to guests.
Some 385 rooms and suites reinterpret Xi'an's culture through bold design: The large artistic murals, designed by the prestigious ATG Beyond Company in China, reproduce fashionable costumes of the Tang Dynasty through colorful lines with a modern sense.
The peach-shaped ornaments by the especially beautiful beds of W Hotels are inspired by the precious tributes of Tang Dynasty and incarnated as the "Golden Peach of Samarqand" with allusions to ancient diplomacy.
All rooms and suites are equipped with an open balcony and cleverly connected to the mini bar and sofa, allowing guests to enjoy special cocktails while overlooking the splendid scene of the ruins of Qujiang Pool.
The hotel has 73 spacious and bright suites, among which the vibrant curved walls and desert-colored ripple finish in the unanticipated Extreme WOW Suite create an extraordinary scene on the Silk Road. They fully demonstrate the prosperity and openness of the ancient capital, and guide guests to discover the next hidden surprise in the room.
"As one of the most historic cities in the world, Xi'an attracts global guests seeking exciting experiences with its diverse arts, design and entertainment cultures, which makes the city an ideal location for another iconic W Hotel," said Anthony Ingham, global brand leader, W Hotels. "Xi'an constantly redefines itself now while inheriting its far-reaching history, which coincides with the brand concept of W Hotels that break through the inherent cognition.
"From the bold and complex designs, tribute to art treasures of the ancient culture, to the iconic characteristic services, W Xi'an is always ready to bring newly local luxury experience to global guests."
