Set to take place in Hong Kong from April 14 to 17, the WTCF Hong Kong Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit 2025 promises an exciting gathering.

Hosted by the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Hong Kong (HKTB), and organized by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Secretariat of the WTCF and Hong Kong Tourism Board, this summit is themed "Innovate City Branding to Elevate Tourism Excellence".

This summit enjoys the collaboration of five major international tourism organizations: the United Nations World Tourism Organization, the Pacific Asia Travel Association, the World Travel & Tourism Council, the European Travel Commission (ETC), and the Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF). During the summit, attendees will experience a rich lineup of activities, including the council meeting, the opening ceremony, the Mayors' Forum, the Tourism City Branding and Inbound Tourism Development Forum, the Hong Kong Tourism Development Forum, the Beijing-Hong Kong Travel Fair, and the Beijing Inbound Tourism Policy and Resources Update. Combining the WTCF's global reach with Hong Kong's status as a leading international city, the summit will forge a robust platform for high-level and multi-faceted exchanges and cooperation. It seeks to refine the global tourism landscape, offer tourists superior and more diverse experiences, and breathe new life into the pursuit of high-quality, sustainable tourism worldwide.

Sima Hong, vice mayor of Beijing and executive vice chair of the WTCF Council, will address the opening ceremony, contributing to forging industry consensus and propelling the long-term, steady, and prosperous growth of global tourism. This summit is poised to host over 800 distinguished guests from more than 40 countries and 60 cities, including city members, institutional members, international organizations, tourism businesses, media representatives, as well as experts and scholars.

The WTCF will unveil the Report on World Tourism Economy Trends (2025). This report will offer a thorough review and analysis of the global tourism economy in 2024 and provide forward-looking predictions for 2025, aiming to equip the entire industry with insights into the state of global tourism and the dynamics of core industry developments. The representatives will jointly issue the Hong Kong Initiative. This initiative calls for a new approach to tourism city development, one that is deeply rooted in cultural heritage and innovation, propelled by technology, guided by the principle of sustainable development, supported by global collaboration, and underpinned by robust tourism security measures. The goal is to carve out a new path for urban tourism development.

Inaugurated in Beijing, the WTCF stands as the world's first city-based international tourism organization. It consists of six committees: Tourism-related Businesses, Experts, Media Organizations, Cruise Industry, Civil Aviation, and Investment. The WTCF currently boasts 256 members spanning 87 countries and regions, comprising 168 city members and 88 institutional members. Guided by the philosophy of "Better City Life through Tourism", the WTCF is committed to building exchange and cooperation platforms to share successful experience in urban tourism development.

The Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit, a branded annual event of the WTCF, acts as a critical connector. Widely hailed as the premier cooperation platform for tourism cities, it enables seamless resource sharing and open dialogue among tourism cities and businesses. Together, they explore new models and opportunities for tourism cooperation.
