'No anomalies found' in China Eastern flight crash

Two years on from the fatal crash of China Eastern Airlines Flight MU5735 in a mountainous area of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said there were no anomalies found in the flight operations, according to a report released by the administration on Wednesday.

The Boeing 737-800 set off from Kunming, Yunnan province, bound for Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on March 21, 2022, when it crashed in a mountainous region in Wuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, claiming the lives of all 132 people on board.

Thursday marked the second anniversary of the accident.

According to the report, the technical investigation team will continue to conduct experimental verification and root cause analysis. Updates on the progress of the investigation will be released as further information becomes available.
