Four people were confirmed dead while another 14 remained unaccounted for in a flooded coal mine in Southwest China's Sichuan province by 22:43 on Saturday.
The accident occured at 15:26 on Saturday in Gongxian county.
Rescue efforts were underway, the provincial emergency management bureau said.
