The Hong Kong Education Bureau (EDB) Thursday extended the suspension of all schools till Sunday in lieu of rising safety concerns attributable to riots.
All schools in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) suspended classes on Thursday due to a wide range of disruptions, including traffic blockages, caused by escalating violence across the city.
In an announcement issued Thursday noon, the EDB appealed to students to remain indoors and not engage in unlawful activities.
Moreover, the EDB strongly urged protesters to stop all violent acts immediately so that the society can return to normal as soon as possible and students can go to school safely.
