Astronauts of the International Space Station (ISS) detected an air leak on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft docked to the ISS, the Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos said Thursday.

A pressure drop was registered at the station on Wednesday night, and all six astronauts gathered in the Russian segment and discovered a micro crack on the Soyuz MS-09 spaceship, Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin said.

The fracture, possibly caused by a micro meteoroid, does not threaten the safety of the crew and it will be patched from inside without astronauts going into outer space, Rogozin said.

NASA said on Twitter Thursday that "The crew aboard the International Space Station is conducting troubleshooting and repair work today after the discovery of a tiny leak last night traced to the Russian segment of the orbital complex."
