At this critical juncture for bilateral relations, China is willing to engage in dialogue and consultations with the United States based on equality and mutual respect to address each other's legitimate concerns, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Wednesday in a meeting with Evan Greenberg, executive vice chair of the National Committee on United States-China Relations in Beijing.

China and the U.S. share extensive common interests and vast opportunities for cooperation, which can lead to mutual success and benefit the world, Wang said.

He called on both sides to follow the important consensus of the two heads of state, enhance communication, deepen understanding, avoid misjudgments, and manage differences.

Wang also acknowledged Greenberg's longstanding commitment to promoting bilateral exchanges and cooperation, and expressed hope that the committee and insightful individuals from various sectors in the U.S. would contribute to a stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.

Describing the U.S.-China relations as the most important bilateral relationship in the world, Greenberg said both sides should draw on their experience and wisdom to enhance mutual understanding, expand cooperation, and coexist harmoniously.

In a world facing increasing risks and uncertainties, the two countries should strengthen engagement and achieve respective peace and prosperity, he said, pledging that he and the committee would continue making active efforts in this regard.
