The Chinese national flag at downtown Beijing's Tian'anmen Square, the Great Hall of the People, and Xinhuamen, on Monday will be flown at half-mast to mourn late Chinese Premier Li Peng, who passed away in Beijing on July 22. Li's mortal remains will be cremated the same day in the Chinese capital.
Flags at half-mast will also be seen at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, seats of the provincial-level governments, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR, border ports as well as overseas embassies and consulates.
Born in October 1928, Li was a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee from 1987 to 2002.
