(ECNS) -- With the large-scale development of Xiong'an New Area, located about 100 kilometers southwest of Beijing, the region has seen remarkable results in relieving the capital of non-essential functions, attracting more city dwellers to settle here.
Since the opening of the Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway, travel has become much more convenient. In terms of daily life, the planned 15-minute living circles here are impressive. In the Rongdong area, everything you need is available within just five minutes, said Ruan Jianhui, general manager of R&D at China Telecom Digital City Technology Co., Ltd., who moved from Beijing to Xiong'an in 2021.
Ruan is not alone. Teng Fei, an employee of State Grid Digital Technology Holdings Co., Ltd.'s Xiong'an branch, has been working in the new area for five years. Thanks to supportive local policies, Teng has purchased a house and settled here. The apartment is just a short walk from her office. The 15-minute living circle here is convenient, said Teng, who became a new Xiong'an resident in 2024.
There are no traffic jams, with plenty of parks in the neighborhood, so it is convenient to take the kids out to play, said Zhao Xiaoyi, who started working at Xuanwu Hospital in 2023.
Zhao said the key factors that attracted her family to Xiong'an New Area were the availability of resources, its innovative environment, and favorable policies.
At present, over 300 central state-owned enterprises have set up branches in the area, 17 academician-led projects have been launched, and tens of thousands of professionals have arrived in Xiong'an to build their futures and pursue their dreams.
