The China General Chamber of Commerce — USA reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing positive engagement between China and the United States through commercial cooperation and cultural exchange, as the two nations commemorated the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.

"This year will mark a significant milestone for us and a pivotal time when opportunities and challenges will coexist," said Hu Wei, president of CGCC. "We are more conscious than ever of the significance of our role and mission in this particularly momentous year."

"We will leverage CGCC's strengths to enhance communication with the U.S. government, business groups, and relevant organizations, creating more opportunities for our member companies to interface with local enterprises. We have also paid close attention to the potential for greater people-to-people exchanges between two countries," Hu added.

Over recent months, the CGCC arranged an array of initiatives embodying these principles. The international exhibition roadshow focusing on Dehua white porcelain allowed Americans to experience the exquisite artistry of this ancient Chinese craft, as CGCC Vice-President Li Suosheng assisted the Dehua government in east China's Fujian province and an industry delegation in establishing a permanent showcase at a New York's museum.

Hosting a Chinese restaurant investment delegation organized by the U.S. Commercial Service in Beijing on March 18, CGCC facilitated firsthand visits to member enterprises and shared insights on achieving sustained success across the U.S. market landscape.

CGCC's co-organizing of the activity themed on the legendary American beef brand's journey to China in Shanghai on March 28 — in partnership with the U.S. Meat Export Federation and U.S. beef producer Greater Omaha — exemplified the chamber's commitment to agricultural cooperation and cross-cultural appreciation. The event introduced America's world-class beef industry, showcasing quality standards, grading practices, and the farm-to-table ecosystem.

"This event is part of our ongoing effort to educate Chinese buyers about the different qualities and grades of U.S. beef," said Mark Gustafson, chief consulting officer of CLB Management, Greater Omaha's partner firm. "Greater Omaha has a similar philosophy to ours, focusing on high-quality, grain-fed beef. We aim to showcase the best of U.S. beef to the Chinese market."

CGCC will continue spearheading opportunities to deepen commercial and societal bonds between the Chinese and the U.S. people. In June, CGCC will again partner with the SelectUSA Investment Summit in Washington D.C., to host a Chinese investor delegation reception, promoting Chinese direct investment in the U.S..

In light of the opportunities and challenges presented by globalization, Sino-U.S. cultural exchanges and development should place a greater emphasis on innovation and integration. "We'll keep acting as a platform for advancing trade, business, and cultural exchanges between China and the U.S., strengthening understanding and collaboration between the two nations and encouraging the positive development of Sino-U.S. relations," Hu added.
