Latest data from Licaitong, Tencent's wealth management platform, show that Shanghai women are better with financial planning.
The platform's June statistics indicated that the money devoted to wealth management each woman in Shanghai was 1.7 times as much as that of the national level, while their purchase amount of financial products per capita during the past month was1.5 times that of women nationwide.
The number of women users who make investment on the platform was 1.2 times that of men.
“Women in Shanghai tend to be in charge of family finance and also prefer financial management,” said Wang Ying, the team leader for Licaitong's products.
Tencent in 2014 launched its online asset management platform which is accessible via the social networking application WeChat's wallet function.
