An art show featuring the works of dozens of African and Chinese artists was unveiled at the National Library of China this week.

The show, part of the First "Belt and Road" Afro-Sino Art Exchange Exhibition and Afro-Sino Cultural Forum, was jointly organized by the Kenyan Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts, the Afro Sino Cultural Exchange Association and the National Library.

More than half of the over 110 works on display, ranging from oil paintings, chalk drawings to sculptures, were created by 40-plus African artists, including those from Kenya, Rwanda, Zimbabwe and Tanzania. Works by Chinese artists mainly depict the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and contemporary African life.

Kiprop Lagat, director of culture at the Kenyan Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts, said Kenya has greatly benefited from the advancement of the BRI. He expressed his hope that with this show, more Chinese people will be attracted to visit Kenya to experience the hospitality of the local people.
