The 8th edition of Chinese Film Festival in France (FCCF) opened Monday night in Paris, offering French audiences a chance to discover nine Chinese films released last year.

The festival started with the screening of "Forever Young" in the Gaumont Champs-Elysees cinema in the presence of the director Li Fangfang, alongside the guests of honor, Chinese actor Liu Ye and French actress Virginie Ledoyen, as well as the festival's ambassador Costa Gavras, president of French cinema institute.

This year's FCCF session runs from May 28 to July 10 in Paris and in several French cities including Cannes, Marseille, Lyon, Saint-Denis Reunion, Strasbourg and Brest.

The film selection includes blockbusters and auteur films, including China's biggest film success "Wolf Warrior 2", with box office returns of nearly 900 million U.S. dollars.

The other movies in the list are "Legend of the Demon cat", "Seventy seven days", "Battle of memories", "Our time will come", "Chasing the dragon", "The ex-file: the return of the exes" and "Our shining days".

At the opening ceremony, China's Ambassador to France Zhai Jun said: "For years, China and France have had fruitful exchanges through art. France is the European country that imports the largest number of Chinese films. China is the first foreign market for French cinema."

"With the development of China's film market, Sino-French cooperation will have a more beautiful future," he added.
