(ECNS) — China's trade with fellow Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies totaled 19.41 trillion yuan (about $2.7 trillion) in the first three quarters of 2025, a 2% increase from the previous year and nearly 58% of its total foreign trade, according to official data released Monday.
Lyu Daliang, spokesperson for the General Administration of Customs (GAC) and head of its Department of Statistics and Analysis, released the figures at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office.
According to Lyu, imports and exports of high-tech products with other APEC economies in the first three quarters both exceeded 2 trillion yuan, up 7.9% and 12%, respectively. These products accounted for over 60% of the total trade value in the same category.
Exports of daily chemical products to other APEC economies rose 5.7%, while imports of sporting goods surged 15.6%, Lyu added.
The spokesperson emphasized that amid geopolitical tensions, unilateralism and protectionism, building consensus and deepening cooperation across various fields will help the Asia-Pacific region address economic challenges and achieve greater prosperity.
He noted that bilateral trade between China and the Republic of Korea had reached 1.74 trillion yuan in the first three quarters, up 2% year- on-year. China's exports to the Republic of Korea stood at 771.28 billion yuan, up 0.6 %, while imports from the country totaled 967.17 billion yuan, rising 3.1%. Trade in electromechanical and agricultural products grew 6% and 3.3%, respectively.
