(ECNS) -- An official Philippine vessel deliberately rammed into a Chinese coast guard (CCG) ship near Huangyan Dao in the South China Sea on Tuesday morning, said a CCG spokesperson.
On Tuesday, over 10 Philippine official vessels illegally entered China's territorial waters near Huangyan Dao, and the CCG took control measures in accordance with the law, including warnings, navigation route control, and the use of water cannon against the Philippine vessels, said CCG spokesperson Gan Yu.
According to Gan, at approximately 10 a.m., one of the Philippine vessels bearing the hull number 3014 disregarded repeated warnings from the Chinese side. In an unprofessional and hazardous act, the vessel intentionally collided with a CCG ship.
The Philippines' deliberate act of infringement and provocation is malicious, and the full responsibility for the collision rests entirely with the Philippine side, the spokesperson said.
