(ECNS) -- The "Oriental Pearl Ⅷ" departed a port in Dandong, northeast China's Liaoning Province, for Incheon, South Korea, on Thursday, marking the official resumption of the cargo shipping route between Dandong and Incheon after a three-year suspension.

The Dandong-Incheon international passenger and cargo liner route has long been regarded as a "golden route" in enhancing economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries. It opens an efficient maritime corridor that supports the development of China's coastal economic belt in the northeast and contributes to building an international shipping hub in Northeast Asia.

To ensure the smooth resumption of the "Oriental Pearl Ⅷ" voyage, border inspection authorities conducted thorough safety checks on key aspects.

Leveraging the "Internet + border inspection" model, relevant authorities advanced digital customs clearance processes such as online pre-approval for ship inspections and boarding permits. Technologies including video surveillance, smart boarding codes, and gangway monitoring systems were deployed to enable real-time, full-process supervision of personnel and vessels.
