(ECNS) – In response to recent reports that Google Maps now labels the body of water adjacent to the Philippines as the "West Philippine Sea" instead of the "South China Sea," China has reiterated its position on the internationally recognized name.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated at a regular press conference on Tuesday that "South China Sea" is the geographical name that has long been used, recognized, and accepted by the international community, including by countries around the world and international organizations such as the United Nations.
