137th Canton Fair to open with over 200,000 overseas buyers pre-registered

(ECNS) — The 137th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, opened on Tuesday in Guangzhou, with more than 200,000 overseas buyers from 215 countries and regions pre-registered to attend, the China Foreign Trade Center said.

A total of 255 major multinational companies, including Walmart (U.S.), Carrefour (France), Tesco (UK), and Metro (Germany), have confirmed their participation. Among them, 97 are from Asia, 71 from Europe, and 52 from North America.

The fair will be held in three phases from April 15 to May 5, covering a total of 1.55 million square meters with around 74,000 booths and approximately 31,000 participating companies.

The first phase of the fair, themed "Advanced Manufacturing," will feature nearly 8,900 booths dedicated to trending sectors, including electric vehicles, lithium batteries, solar cells, digital technology, and intelligent manufacturing, with around 3,700 exhibitors.

In addition, the fair will host 400 product launch events, introducing new features like themed presentations, live-streamed showcases, and enterprise-level innovations to create a new "debut economy" scenario.
