(ECNS) -- According to the National Immigration Administration on Wednesday, 958,000 inbound and outbound visitors crossed the border during the Spring Festival, up 22.9 percent from the same period last year.
China recorded 14.37 million cross-border trips, a 6.3 percent increase from the previous year. Among these, 7.671 million were made by mainland residents, marking a 5 percent increase from last year; 5.74 million were made by residents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, showing a 5.6 percent rise; and 958,000 were made by foreigners, reflecting a significant 22.9 percent increase compared to last year.
Immigration authorities also processed 525,000 vehicles, including ships, trains and automobiles, 14.4 percent increase compared to the previous year, according to the administration.
